WPŁYW INDOMETACYNY NA NIEDOKRWIENNE USZKODZENIA SEKTORA CA1 ROGU AMONA U CHOMIKÓW MONGOLSKICH
The protective influence of indomethacin on selective damage of Ca1 neurons of Ammon’s horn resulting from short lasting cerebral ischemia was studied. Experiments were performed on Mongolian gerbils in which common carotid arteries were bilaterally ligated for 5 or 7.5 min. The animals were given intraperitoneal injection of indomethacin in a dosis of 8 mg/kg b.w. either 45 min prior to cerebral ischemia or 3 h after release of carotid ligation. Animals with doubled dosis of indomethacin given 45 min before and 5 h after ischemia formed an additional experimental group. Untreated animals were considered as a control group.
