Współczesne adaptacje powieści Jane Austen. Lizzie Bennet Diaries jako narracja transmedialna

The subject of the article is analysis of one of Jane Austen’s recent screening – Lizzie Bennet Diaries, an independent adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The series arose as a result of austenmania, which began in popular culture at the beginning of the nineties, although it is still an innovative creation worth further description. In the article I would like to present the phenomenon of Austen’s work and consider its reasons, describe Lizzie Bennet Diaries as transmedia storytelling and which adapting operations the creators used while transferring the book to the screen, as well as what are the differences between the series and hitherto adaptations of Pride and Prejudice.
