KONCEPCJA OFICJUM MODULARNEGO W BADANIACH NAD MONODIĄ LITURGICZNĄ. NA PODSTAWIE OFICJÓW O ŚW. KATARZYNIE

The author analyzes offices of St. Catherine of Alexandria. Some of them, especially those beginning with antiphons Virginis eximiae, Inclita sanctae virginis, Ave virginum gemma, Passionem gloriosae, Prudens virgo lampadae, contain the same works (antiphons and responsories). This makes it difficult to determine precisely which office is the model and which – a later version. In order to identify the offices the author proposes to recognize four blocks of chants as the main elements of an office (modules): Vespers antiphons, Matins antiphons, Matins responsories, as well as Lauds antiphons.
