Analiza możliwości wykorzystania zobrazowań z Cartosat-1 w opracowaniach fotogrametrycznych i kartograficznych
W procesie badawczym została określona możliwość interpretacji i wykorzystania zobrazowań do aktualizacji Vmap.
The Indian CARTOSAT-1 satellite was designed mainly for cartographic applications. It is placed on the polar Sun Synchronous Orbit 618 km from Earth. CARTOSAT-1 has two high resolution panchromatic sensors imaging the Earth’s surface in the visible range. The imaging strips are about 30 km wide. The space resolution of the images is 2.5 m.
The sensors in satellite are placed to acquire stereoscope pairs. Pictures are taken forward and backward at the same time by two sensors. There is also the possibility of orthogonal deflection to satellite orbit space. It makes an increase in imagery frequency of a specified image from neighbouring orbits possible. Because the terrain resolution is more than two times better than previous Indian satellite IRS and radiometric resolution is also better, it seems that Cartosat products will be more useful in various GIS and mapping applications.
To determine the possibilities of using the images of DTM from the stereopair, an orthophotomap was elaborated and a fragment of the orthoimage was vectorized and compared with existing digital elaborations from this area. 36 GCPs on terrain details with the GPS method and 3 3.5 km - long terrain profiles were measured with the help of GPS RTK technology on the space scene. In the experiment two panchromatic scenes (stereo) from Rawa Mazowiecka region (51°42’,5 N; 20° 23’,0 E) were used. The scene measurement is 26.5 km × 29.5 km (winter scene).
During the experiment, the specific number of GCPs required for scene rectification and the size of the generated DTM was estimated. Additionally, the DTM generated from the CARTOSAT-1 stereopair was compared with DTED level 2 and with three profiles measured in the terrain. In the investigation process, the possibility of interpretation and application of imageries to the actualization of the Vmap was evaluated.
