The paper is an attempt to explain, how to build a brand of scientific institution
on Facebook – the most popular community portal. This communication platform favours
development of relationships between academics, students and librarians also. This article
shows how to make a good fan page, which actions will help reach more people, engage
the fans as much as possible and what’s mean the power of likes, comments and shares.
It describes all initiatives on Facebook taken by academics in Institute of Library and
Information Science in Maria Curie-Sklodowska University.
