Owulacja u kotek - skorygowane spojrzenie
The domestic cat (Felis silvestris catus), belongs to seasonally polyestrous animals. Under temperate climate conditions, the breeding season lasts from January to October, with a winter anoestrus in this species. Queens are considered as induced ovulators, with copulation triggering the release of GnRH and consequently, luteinizing hormone (LH), necessary for the ovulation. However, under some circumstances, spontaneous ovulation is possible and has been already documented. This article aims to present the current, broaden view on the queens ovulation and also the practical implications for both, breeding and veterinary practice.
